GDP: Istat confirms a quarter-on-quarter increase of 0.2 per cent and a year-on-year increase of 1 per cent in the second quarter
According to the Institute, today’s estimates confirm the preliminary figures. The second quarter of 2026, the Institute points out, had the same number of working days as the previous quarter and one more working day than the second quarter of 2025
In the second quarter of 2026, Italia’s gross domestic product – expressed in chained values with 2020 as the reference year, adjusted for calendar effects and seasonally adjusted – rose by 0.2 per cent compared with the previous quarter and by 1 per cent compared with the second quarter of 2025. Today’s estimates, as announced by Istat, therefore confirm the preliminary figures released previously.
The Institute points out that the second quarter of 2026 had the same number of working days as the previous quarter and one more working day than the second quarter of 2025. The year-on-year change for 2026, net of calendar effects, is confirmed at 0.8 per cent. It should be noted that 2026 has three more working days than the previous year.
