One in ten pensioners had at least one work experience after receiving their pension. This is what emerges from the ISTAT statistics 'Pension and labour market participation of 50-74 year olds', relating to 2023. A survey that also highlights the high gender gap in Italy between workers and pensioners aged over 50: only 68.3% of women aged 65-74 receive a pension compared to 87.7% of men. 26.8% of women do not work and do not receive any pension: a percentage almost five times higher than that of men (5.7%). And a similar ratio occurs in the 50-64 age group: ISTAT data show that 40.5% of women are not employed and have no pension compared to 15.4% of men.

Istat data show that only 68.3% of women in the '65-74 age group' receive a pension compared to 87.7% of men. 26.8% of women do not work and do not receive any pension: a percentage almost five times higher than that of men (5.7%). First old age pension at 61.4
