Puecher Olivetti vocational school in Rho with an extra gear: memorandum of understanding signed with Subaru Italia
A car, model Outback, is available to teachers and pupils for operational teaching, as part of a package that includes technical tools and training opportunities
Maintenance and technical assistance students at the Puecher Olivetti Vocational Institute in Rho, in the province of Milan, now have an extra gear. The school has signed a memorandum of understanding with Subaru Italia, which has made a car, model Outback, available to teachers and pupils for educational activities, as part of a package that includes technical tools and training opportunities.
A practical teaching tool
"This is an important step in strengthening the relationship between the school, the territory and the production world," commented headmaster Emanuele Contu, "with the aim of providing students with authentic training opportunities, up-to-date technologies and more direct contact with the skills required by the automotive sector today. For a professional institute, innovation also means building solid alliances with companies capable of sharing knowledge, tools and a vision of the future".
The automotive sector
The automotive sector is among those most interesting to those enrolled in the Maintenance and Technical Assistance course, which like all vocational schools also includes many hours of practical lessons.
Subaru's contribution
Subaru also provided the school with official diagnostic tools, and a technical training programme for teachers, in a process that did not end with the delivery of the equipment but will continue in a structured way to 'train a new generation of repair technicians and car enthusiasts, ready to join local businesses and contribute to the growth of the automotive sector', as Ruggero Fede, After Sales Director of Subaru Italia, stated.
Second Italian school
The Puecher Olivetti is the second Italian school to enter into a similar agreement with the Japanese car manufacturer: in December the example of the Berna institute in Mestre. 'Investing in young people, for Subaru,' says Fede, 'is investing in the future of the sector. Not forgetting the ongoing transformation towards electric cars.
