Ita Airways joins Star Alliance: benefits, lounges, Miles & More and new destinations

For Joerg Eberhart, 'by joining the largest and most established global airline network, we significantly expand our international presence, offering passengers a smoother, more consistent and high-quality travel experience, with access to more than 1,150 destinations, more efficient connections, integrated services and an enhanced premium offer'.

Once the Volare loyalty programme ended on 31 March, again as of 1 April 2026 Ita Airways will join Miles & More, the Lufthansa Group's loyalty programme as a fully integrated partner, with a progressive integration that will be consolidated during the month of April.

With over 39 million members worldwide, Miles & More is one of the largest loyalty programmes in Europe, offering customers a wide range of services, with 170 international partnerships, including 35 airline partners and 135 commercial partners.

Thanks to this integration, Ita Airways passengers can benefit from access to one of the most established loyalty networks in Europe. This is a milestone on the path of integrating Ita Airways into the ecosystem of the Lufthansa Group, which owns 41% of Ita's capital, with the prospect of eventually acquiring control.
