Italtractor returns to Italian ownership: acquisition by Modena-based Usco
Detected by the US-based Titan group. President Galassini: ‘This is an important operation for the country too, bringing control back here’:
Italtractor is back in Italian hands. Usco, based in Modena, is acquiring the Emilia-based manufacturer of undercarriage components from the US group Titan International, in a deal valued at a total of 285 million dollars.
This has been a major acquisition, bringing with it 11 production plants (three of which are in Italia), 1,600 employees and just under 400 million in revenue.
“We’ve been following this matter for some time,” explains Massimo Galassini, founder of Usco, “and I believe this is an important move for us, but also for the country, as it brings a major company like Italtractor back under Italian control.”
Whilst, just a few kilometres away, Ducati’s future is hanging in the balance in terms of ownership given the difficulties faced by Volkswagen-Audi, in the case of Italtractor-Itm, this company is joining a rapidly growing group, a world leader in the sector of components for earth-moving machinery and heavy-duty vehicles for agriculture, mining, construction and forestry.
Following this transaction, Usco’s revenue has reached €1.4 billion – an all-time high – with over 4,000 employees.
