On the occasion of the National Made in Italy Day, Tuesday 15 April 2025, Il Sole 24 Ore announces the expansion of the ItalyX certification, promoted in collaboration with Confindustria, which from today will recognise not only manufacturing excellence, but also those that stand out in design and distribution. This is a development that represents a concrete response to the global challenges that companies face today and aims to enhance the entire Made in Italy supply chain.

Launched a year and a half ago with the aim of supporting the competitiveness of Italian companies on international markets, the ItalyX certification has so far been joined by almost 140 companies and is now being expanded to include new categories. The new Design/Design specification will assess the ability of companies to devise innovative solutions rooted in Italian tradition, enhancing the originality of design and respect for the aesthetic standards of Made in Italy, as well as technological innovation applied to materials and processes, while maintaining the link with craftsmanship and verifying that Design and R&D activities are carried out on Italian territory.

The specification dedicated to distribution, which represents a true amplifier of the Italian spirit, guarantees traceability and authenticity even in the commercial phase, protecting the identity of products made mainly by production companies that represent Italian excellence. An innovative approach that aims to include companies that conceive and design Italian products destined for international markets.

The announcement of the evolution of ItalyX was made today during the Conference 'From value to protection: the future of Made in Italy between certifications and global challenges' organised by Sole 24 Ore at the Senate of the Republic for the national Made in Italy Day. Opened by Senator of the Republic Giampietro Maffoni, Member of the 9th Permanent Commission, Industry, Commerce, Tourism, Agriculture and Agri-Food Production, the event was greeted by the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa, who expressed his appreciation for the initiative, emphasising the value of Made in Italy: 'a wealth to be cultivated, protected and promoted towards new challenges and new ambitious horizons of growth, excellence and success'. The conference included speeches by the Presidents of the Italian Chambers of Commerce in China (Lorenzo Riccardi), India (Alessandro Giuliani), Poland (Piero Cannas) and the United Kingdom (Roberto Costa), who offered an insight into the prospects and opportunities in the main international markets.

Eraldo Minella, General Manager Professional Services and Training Area of the 24 ORE Group, explained at the opening of the conference: 'In our country, small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone of the economy. However, they often struggle to bring out their value in international markets and now, with the uncertain situation on the US front, even more so. With ITALYX they can count on a distinctive element to help them consolidate their presence abroad and strengthen consumer confidence in their products. After the success achieved with the production certification of manufacturing companies, with the two new Design and Distribution Certifications we want to make available to an even wider audience of operators the benefits of the ITALYX 'brand' and the ecosystem of Partners supporting the project, starting with the numerous Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad involved in the Initiative to bring Italian companies to new markets such as India, China, and the United Arab Emirates".

Also speaking at the conference were lawyer Rosaria Salamone and chartered accountant, Francesco Avella on the legal protection tools of Made in Italy, and representatives of three major ItalyX certified companies - Vittorio Biscarini President of EMU Group, Luigi Fammiano President of Riflessi, and Massimo Panagia Sole Director and CEO of Francia Latticini - who illustrated how, in their direct experience, ItalyX certification has represented a strategic lever to face global challenges and promote Italian distinctiveness on international markets, renewing and strengthening the prestige of Made in Italy.

The ItalyX certification, supported by numerous partners, including 15 territorial associations of Confindustria, AICEC, Assoconsult and 10 Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad, represents a strategic pillar for Made in Italy by bringing together companies from the sectors of Materials Manufacturing (73%), Food (14%), Furniture (7%), Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals (4%) and Textiles (2%), which together generate a total turnover of more than 4 billion euro.
