Grandson and son of perfumers from Grasse, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud embarked on his journey from childhood to become Louis Vuitton's maître parfumeur, after working as a perfume creator and director of innovation for 22 years at Firmenich. He helped rebuild Les Fontaines Parfumées, a 17th century property that had been abandoned, to create a unique centre for Louis Vuitton based in the heart of Grasse, the capital of modern perfumery.

Through years of exploration and innovation, he has created Louis Vuitton fragrances that embody his vision of a perfumery of contrasts, such as Spell on You and l'Immensité, as well as redefining the Extrait category through compositions without traditional top, heart or base notes. Furthermore, the pioneering use of Louis Vuitton's unique natural leather infusion technique and CO2 extraction has further distinguished his work in the industry.
