Car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover suspends shipments to the US as the struggling British car industry begins to react to the 25% tariff on vehicle imports imposed by President Donald Trump.
Jaguar Land Rover Automotive, one of the largest British car manufacturers, has stated that the break will take place this April.
"The US is an important market for JLR's luxury brands," the company said in a statement. "As we work to address new trade terms with our partners, we are taking some short-term actions, including a pause in shipments in April, while we develop our medium- and long-term plans."
Analysts said they expect other UK carmakers to follow suit, as the tariff increase increases pressure on an industry already facing falling domestic demand and the need to reorganise its plants for the transition to electric vehicles.
