Japan: machinery orders up 9.7 per cent month-on-month in June; estimated at 4.9 per cent in the third quarter
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - In Japan, core machinery orders – a figure that excludes the most volatile sectors such as shipping and electricity companies – rose by 9.7 per cent compared with May, when they had fallen by 12.4 per cent. This was announced by the Cabinet Office, which forecasts an overall increase in orders of 4.9 per cent in the third quarter, following a 0.2 per cent rise in the second quarter.
