'The problem was due to a significant attack and did not result in any loss of customer information or virus infection,' the second Japanese airline added. According to the Japanese media, this was a so-called 'DDoS' attack aimed at overwhelming and destroying a website or server. The cyber attack did not cause large-scale disruptions, but certainly 24 domestic flights were delayed by more than 30 minutes. Public broadcaster NHK reported problems with the company's baggage check-in system, saying that flights were disrupted at several airports across the country.
