Jp Morgan, potential holding in Bper higher than 10 per cent

Jp Morgan has exceeded 10% of Bper but is acting alone and has no intention of taking control or influencing Bper's management. This was indicated by the American bank to Consob after it announced that since 3 March it has strengthened its position and holds 6.7% of the bank as indirect asset management while with derivatives the potential holding with voting rights is 10.3%. "The acquisition was financed using JPMorgan's usual sources of capital and financing. The acquisition of the voting rights is related to the provision of liquidity, exposure or hedging arising from transactions with customers on cash products (including equities and exchange-traded funds) or derivatives (including options, swaps and futures) both on and off-exchange," the bank explained.
