From transport to school, June marked by strikes
A snapshot taken by Adnkronos of the initiatives announced for this month
The month that has just opened promises to be 'busy' from the point of view of trade union unrest, and the consequent repercussions that these will inevitably have on services to citizens. As often happens, it is transport that ends up in the eye of the strike storm. Taking stock of what lies ahead is the Adnkronos agency.
Trains: Thursday 11 June
On Thursday, 11 June, Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl Ferrovieri, Fast Confsal and Orsa Trasporti have proclaimed the 8-hour national strike, from 9.01 a.m. to 5 p.m., of the staff of railway companies and railway contractors. A protest that was in the air, repeatedly evoked by the unions, against the so-called "split" intercity railway tenders, i.e. divided into three lots, which - the unions denounce - would lead to "the dismemberment of rail transport and the impoverishment of a strategic asset of the country", opening the way to contractual dumping.
From 3.00 a.m. on 11 June to 2.00 a.m. on the 12th, Sgb and Cub Trasporti have proclaimed a national strike for the staff of railway companies; while the National Assembly Pdm/pdb has proclaimed a national strike, again for 11 June, from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., of the Fsi, Mercitalia Rail, Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper Scarl group's driver and on-board staff.
