The first investment will be almost 60,000 square metres in Veneto. But the goal is to develop a potential 100 million investment business in three years. It is above all in industrial/logistics and student buildings that the partnership that will see, on the Italian market, the French Idec Groupe, one of the main operators in the real estate sector in France and abroad, together with the Xori Group, an Italian company, based in Turin, specialising in engineering and construction, will begin. The new joint venture - 90% Idec Groupe and 10% Xori - will be called Idec Groupe Italia and will focus on the development of industrial and logistical assets and a residential market exclusively for students.
The Idec Group - founded in France almost 25 years ago and a major player in the real estate sector, with over 600 employees in France, a thousand abroad, 700,000 square metres completed each year and half a billion in global turnover - joins the Xori Group, a company that employs over 200 people and incorporates seven different companies.
'With Idec Goup Italia,' explains Patrice Lafargue, founder and president of Idec Groupe, 'we want to create a reference company to support companies in industry, trade and logistics in the realisation of their real estate projects, integrating all the levers of innovation and sustainability. We intend to combine our know-how and the complementary nature of our activities.
"Thanks to our knowledge of the area," explained Luca Rollino, President of the Xori Group, "we will identify business opportunities and plan business plans for logistics, tertiary and industrial projects. Currently, we are working on a first development project of about 60,000 square metres in Veneto (at least 50,000 square metres is the size of the projects we are considering), but we have three others under evaluation. The development, however, only takes place if the potential interest of the asset by some possible tenants is verified. The reference area, both for logistics and student housing,' concluded Rollino, 'is central and northern Italy.
