Donald Trump announces his spokesperson’s departure via Truth
Karoline Leavitt is set to leave the White House. “Our wonderful spokesperson, and one of my most trusted colleagues, will be stepping down at the end of the month to spend more time with her family and her lovely young children,” wrote Donald Trump on Truth, making the formal announcement.
“It is a decision that I fully understand and respect! Karoline will now become one of my key external advisers and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to make history and secure a decisive victory in the mid-term elections,” added the tycoon.
Leavitt’s departure came as controversy surrounding the US President’s “secret” trip from Turkey at the end of the NATO summit, which was arranged in response to Iranian threats. At the end of April, Leavitt went on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her second child, without appointing a replacement. She returned to her post a few weeks later, finding herself once again in the midst of the turmoil sparked by the US and Israel’s war against Iran.
Leavitt, 28, has made a name for herself as a staunch supporter of MAGA and a figure who is extremely loyal to the president, defending him tooth and nail and never hesitating to deliver sharp retorts to journalists during press briefings.
“President Trump has asked me to continue serving him as his close adviser from outside the White House,” the tenacious spokesperson wrote on social media. “Serving as White House spokesperson over the past year and a half has been the honour and adventure of a lifetime. I am incredibly grateful to President Trump for offering me so many extraordinary opportunities, such as working in the West Wing and spending countless hours in the Oval Office, flying around the world to meet foreign leaders, and travelling across our beautiful country to meet Americans from all walks of life,” Leavitt added in a post on X, thanking the tycoon shortly after announcing her departure from the post at the end of the month.
