Kerzner International accelerates on high-end hospitality and chooses Courchevel 1850 for the Alpine debut of the One&Only brand. The group controlled by the Investment Corporation of Dubai (Icd), the investment arm of the Dubai government, has announced the construction of a new ultra-luxury resort with branded residences in the heart of the French Alps, scheduled to open in 2030.
The International Strategy
The deal represents one of the most important new openings in the European luxury segment and confirms the group's international expansion strategy, which is increasingly focused on iconic, highly profitable destinations, and which is also interested in expansion in Italia. The project will rise in place of the historic Hotel Courcheneige and will include resorts, spas, signature dining and a limited collection of One&Only Private Homes, the brand's branded residences. With this investment, Kerzner further consolidates its presence in international luxury hospitality, a sector in which it has progressively expanded its range of action.
The Ultra Luxury Project
The choice of Courchevel is strategic: the French ski resort is today one of the most exclusive markets for luxury tourism and branded residences, capable of attracting a high-spending international clientele between skiing, wellness, Michelin gastronomy and shopping. The project aims to redefine the concept of contemporary Alpine luxury through residential design rooms and suites, a large wellness area inspired by the mountain environment, and a gastronomic offer designed to transform the resort into a 'destination within a destination'.
Particularly central will be the private residences segment. The One&Only Private Homes will in fact be positioned as some of the most exclusive branded residences in the French Alps, intercepting an increasingly strong global demand for luxury properties integrated into hospitality ecosystems. According to Juan Aguilar, President Real Estate of Kerzner International, Courchevel represents "one of the most exclusive residential and hotel markets in the world," and the project will allow the group to strengthen its role not only as a hotel operator, but also as an international partner for real estate investment and development.
