Kia expands its electric GT range: the EV3, EV4 and EV5 are on their way
Three new battery-powered models bring performance and sportiness to the SUV and hatchback segments
Kia is expanding its range of high-performance models with three new all-electric models: the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT. These three cars extend the brand’s sporty ethos into different segments, joining the EV6 GT and EV9 GT. The aim is to combine greater dynamism and driving pleasure with comfort, technology and practicality for everyday use. Depending on the model, the specification includes dual-motor all-wheel drive, GT Mode, Launch Control, Virtual Gear Shift, Active Sound Design and electronically controlled suspension.
Three models, three takes on sportiness
The EV3 GT brings performance to the compact SUV segment: the dual-motor system delivers 215 kW – equivalent to 292 cv – and 468 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. The EV4 GT delivers the same power and torque, but thanks to its lower, road-oriented set-up, it completes the 0–100 km/h sprint in 5.6 seconds and achieves a WLTP range of 505 km. The EV5 GT, on the other hand, focuses on the versatility of a C-segment SUV: 225 kW, 306 cv and 480 Nm enable acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, whilst the 81.4 kWh battery offers a range of up to 476 km according to the WLTP cycle.
Technology for a more immersive driving experience
Kia aims to make electric driving more exciting through a range of systems that influence the car’s response and its interaction with the driver. Virtual Gear Shift simulates the gear changes of a traditional gearbox, whilst Active Sound Design provides bespoke audible feedback to accompany acceleration and changes in speed. GT Mode adjusts the settings for the motor, steering and suspension, whilst torque management and electronic control systems help to improve stability and precision when cornering. There is also a wealth of digital features, including over-the-air updates and connected services accessible directly from the car. With the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT, Kia’s electric GT range now comprises five models, each with its own personality but united by the same pursuit of performance, technology and driving pleasure.
