Kia PV5 elected International Van of the Year 2026
The title for the Korean electric van was awarded by a jury of twenty-six specialised journalists
Kia's first electric commercial vehicle, the PV5 won the International Van of the Year 2026 award. This major award was unanimously voted at the Solutrans show in Lyon, France, by a jury of commercial vehicle journalists from twenty-six countries.
Included in the evaluation list along with six other models launched in 2025, including two more electric vans, the title of International Van of The Year 2026 achieved by the PV5 highlights the growing importance of electrification in the commercial vehicle sector and, at the same time, its acceleration towards a more sustainable future.
The jury considered how the PV5 sets a new standard in the light commercial vehicle segment with its zero-emission performance, versatility and practicality. In addition, the Kia PV5 also won the Guinness World Record title for the longest distance travelled by a fully-loaded electric van on a single charge: 693.38 kilometres.
The first model in the Pbv range that aims to offer functionality, technology and countless features to meet even the most specialised needs developed on the modular E-Gmp.S platform, the PV5 is currently available in Cargo Long and Passenger versions. New variants such as the Chassis Cab, the short-wheelbase Cargo and the High Roof will be introduced in 2026. Subsequently, Kia's Pbv range will be reinforced by the larger PV7 and PV9 models, which are currently under development.
