Kiev: 14 dead and 57 injured in 24 hours following Russian air strikes

At least 14 people have been killed and a further 57 injured in Russian attacks carried out over the past 24 hours in various regions of Ukraine. This is according to the Kyiv Independent, citing local authorities. The Odessa region was particularly hard hit, where Russian forces carried out what Governor Oleg Kiper described as a ‘massive attack’. One person was killed and two others were injured; a residential building, a healthcare facility, a hotel, a shop and a grain warehouse were damaged. Overnight, Russia launched a total of 170 Shahed-type attack drones, 76 of which were jet-powered, as well as Gerbera and Parodiya decoy drones. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 147 drones were shot down or neutralised, whilst impacts were recorded in 18 locations and debris fell in a further eight. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the attacks struck residential buildings, energy infrastructure and other civilian facilities in the regions of Odessa, Kharkiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Poltava, Zhytomyr and Kyiv.
