Ukraine, Zelensky: 'Moscow wants to sow chaos with attacks on energy infrastructure'
"Right now, the focus is naturally on Operation Dobropillia, our counter-offensive. Since the beginning and to date, the Russians have already suffered more than 12,000 casualties, and that's just in the Pokrovsk and Dobropillia areas alone, particularly since 21 August. Of these 12,000, more than 7,200 are irrecoverable losses," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message
Aiea: plan launched for electricity restoration Zaporizhzhia
Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi said today that a process was underway to help restore external power to the Ukrainian Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, following meetings with Russian and Ukrainian representatives. "Since ZNPP again lost all grid access last month, Director General Grossi has been working with the Russian Federation and Ukraine to develop concrete proposals to enable the plant to receive the external power it needs to cool its six shutdown reactors and spent fuel," the agency's note read. "Although it will still take some time before the grid connection to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is restored, the two sides have engaged with us constructively to achieve this important goal."
Representing the situation, the note explains how 'for more than two weeks, Europe's largest nuclear power plant has been forced to rely on emergency diesel generators to power its cooling pumps, further straining the site's already precarious nuclear safety situation'.
Zelensky: 'Continuous defence in all areas'
"Right now, the focus is naturally on Operation Dobropillia, our counter-offensive. Since the beginning and up to now, the Russians have already suffered more than 12,000 casualties, and that's just in the Pokrovsk and Dobropillia areas alone, particularly since 21 August. Of these 12,000, more than 7,200 are irrecoverable losses," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message.
"Our defence," he adds, "also continues in all other areas. Kupyansk: I want to thank every fighter who fights in and around the city. The Novopavlivka area is also challenging, with our active defence efforts continuing and some positive results achieved.
