Klepierre signs a 196 million agreement with Finiper covering all retail assets
The agreement to acquire the remaining 50 per cent of the joint venture held jointly with the partner has been signed. The transaction will be completed by the end of the year (by 31 December 2026)
Klepierre is once again backing the Italian retail sector. The French property giant has, in fact, signed a binding agreement to acquire the remaining 50 per cent of the joint venture it holds with Finiper. This is evident from the financial results for the first nine months. The transaction – worth a total of €196 million – is due to be completed by the end of the year (by 31 December 2026)
This refers to the joint venture between Klepierre and the Finiper group, which was primarily controlled by Clivia Spa, the owner of shopping centres such as Il Leone in Lonato (Brescia), Il Destriero (Vittuone, Milan) and Le Corti Venete (Verona). Under the terms of the agreement, the Il Leone and Il Destriero shopping centres will come under the direct control of Klepierre, via its subsidiary Klepierre Nederland.
In particular, Il Leone di Lonato – which covers a gross floor area of 6,000 square metres – will undergo a refurbishment and extension project to enhance the areas dedicated to food & beverage.
The transaction forms part of a strategy to expand in the Italian market, a trend already evident in two other developments: Shopville Le Gru in Turin and Romagna Shopping Valley in Rimini.
Earlier this year, the group completed the acquisition of the Roma – Casamassima shopping centre in Bari, thereby consolidating its leadership position across the country.
