The Gran Festra del Desmontegar in Primero

As the air gets cooler and summer draws to a close, one of the most eagerly awaited and heartfelt autumn events in the entire Alpine region returns to Primiero: the Gran Festa del Desmontegar, which this year celebrates its 25th edition. From 25 to 28 September, the Primiero community will welcome guests and visitors to celebrate the return of the animals from the mountain pastures with a rich calendar of events, shows, tastings, and moments of encounter with local culture and traditions. The Desmontegada is much more than a parade: it is a collective moment in which the community celebrates the end of the summer season in the alpine pastures, the return of the herds to the valley, and the richness of the products that come from the high-altitude pastures. At the heart of the festival are the people who live and work the mountains every day, with their knowledge, expert hands and passion passed down through generations. All framed by the spectacular scenery of the Dolomites - a UNESCO World Heritage Site at the centre of which are the legendary Pale di San Martino.
