Labour consultants, from the territory push for digital taxation

A push that increasingly goes through the territory. The road of digital taxation indicated as a compass by the memorandum of understanding of a few weeks ago (see 'Il Sole 24 Ore' of 28 May) is becoming more concrete every day through the work of the technical tables of comparison between labour consultants and provincial revenue offices. The aim is to play all the cards on the table of simplification, which is continually invoked when talking about tax in Italy and which, however, appears almost like an unattainable chimera.

With the prospect of small (or large, depending on one's point of view) steps forward, the agreement signed by the president of the National Council of the Order of Labour Consultants, Rosario De Luca, and the director of the Inland Revenue, Vincenzo Carbone, is setting out on a path of daily confrontation between the professionals registered with the Order and the men and women of the financial administration. "We are particularly satisfied,' De Luca told Il Sole 24 Ore, 'to see how the technical discussion tables have started in the territory to put into practice the commitments signed at central level with the signing of the protocol. Naturally, we will have to work to progressively extend the effects throughout Italy, but the signs are encouraging and we can arrive at both simplifying fulfilments and making it easier to deal with the tax authorities'.

Moreover, the commitment made in the agreement at the end of May was reciprocal. The National Council of Labour Consultants had given its willingness to promote among all members, through training initiatives to be launched throughout the country in collaboration with the provincial councils, the 'priority' use of the digital and remote services available through telephone and video call appointments, instead of physical access at the territorial offices of the Inland Revenue. And at the same time, the labour consultants undertook to promote a systematic use of Civis (the Agency's telematic assistance channel), using the services that will gradually be implemented and extended. It is precisely on Civis that the protocol has provided for the integration of a feature that allows the request for reconsideration in the event of irregularities from automated controls and the possibility of providing additional tax information in the online tax drawer to facilitate the management of fulfilments.

And, since technology is not enough on its own if one is not fully capable of knowing, using and managing it, the other side that will involve the Agency and labour consultants is that of information and training initiatives to encourage operators to keep up to date. In this direction, too, the impulse that will come from the territories will be decisive. Always with the aim of simplifying life for taxpayers and the professionals who assist them.
