After three years of careful renovation, the former Villa Ostini in Stresa, also known as Casa d'Oro, reopens its doors as Boutique Hotel Stresa, marking the return of five-star luxury to the shores of the Pearl of the Lake. Affiliated with Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the new design hotel fits into the context of the Borromean Islands and their stately palaces characterised by Italian-style gardens and Art Nouveau atmospheres.

The project, strongly desired by hotel owner Svetlana Fisun, kept the original charm of the villa intact while incorporating modern design and hospitality elements. "I wanted to leave the soul of the original building intact, respecting the historical context in which it was built, but at the same time I wanted to give new energy and impetus to the area, which I conveyed in the details," Fisun said.

The Structure

The lobby clad in Calacatta Oro and brass details introduces the energy of the new into the old building. The 26 suites, available in Garden, Lake or Peacock variants, offer spacious, light-filled spaces with Italian furnishings and unique views of the lake and surrounding hills. Each suite is embellished with black and white photographs by Gisella Motta, a renowned photojournalist from Stresa, which add a touch of authenticity and history.

There is no lack of attention to wellness: the Private Spa Suites, inspired by the four elements - Earth, Air, Fire, Water - offer experiential relaxation paths with customised rituals and massages, while the LeBolle restaurant, located on the ground floor, offers traditional Italian cuisine revisited in a modern and international key, with a strong link to local producers and a commitment to the no-waste principle. The Rooftop Perlage with panoramic views of the lake concludes the experience.

Sustainability and Technological Innovation

Attention is also paid to sustainability, as the property adopts energy-saving programmes and cutting-edge technological solutions to reduce environmental impact. The sustainable approach also extends to enhancing local culture and communities, offering experiences that allow guests to explore the area and interact with the traditions of Lake Maggiore.
