Lancia Gamma, first images pending production in Melfi

Lancia Gamma is just days away from the new brand positioning announced in the Fastlane 2030 strategic plan. The Italia manufacturer becomes a sub-brand of Fiat, which in turn has become one of the four main global brands of the Stellantis group. Built at the Melfi plant, alongside models such as the Jeep Compass and DS N.8, Gamma shares its Stla Medium platform (born with the Peugeot 3008) and the engine range between hybrid and fully electric units. An important model for increasing production at the plant in the province of Potenza, it will have to overcome some reluctance linked to the exclusive presence of the 1.2-litre engine on the thermal front.

Awaiting the opening of orders expected after the summer, the Lancia Gamma in hybrid version will be powered by the 145 hp 1.2-litre with a range of over 1,000 kilometres. As for the electric Lancia Gamma, the offer will see the presence of the 230 hp two-wheel drive versions with over 540 kilometres available and the 245 hp version with an impressive 740 kilometres. For those looking for a Lancia Gamma 4x4, the only choice at the moment is the 375 hp version with a range of up to 675 km.

Featuring styling that follows the course launched by the Ypsilon, the Gamma is a crossover 4.67 metres long, 1.89 metres wide and 1.66 metres high. Stepping aboard, there are many points of contact with its cousin the DS No. 8, starting with the large central touchscreen. There is no lack of a table, a round central shelf positioned under the infotainment system, already seen on the Ypsilon.
