BALOCCO (VC) - It's back. The iconic HF logo with the little elephant, dedicated to sports cars, has been taken up by Lancia to characterise the sporty models in the range, starting with the Ypsilon HF that we tested for the first time in Balocco and which will be available after the summer at a price starting at around 39 thousand euro..
The 1960s for Lancia were characterised by motorsport performance and, a few decades later, this competitive streak was revived by Lancia engineers to relaunch the brand and give a new characterisation to the models in the range.
The first in order of arrival is the Ypsilon, which will be followed in 2026 by the Gamma, a car that is also expected to relaunch the brand in the fleet market. And, for each model, there will also be an HF version.
The star of our test was the Ypsilon HF, the 370 km range electric sports city car that, with its 280 horsepower and 345 Nm of torque, is able to entertain and go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. Recognisable from the first glance, the Ypsilon HF shows a muscular and aggressive silhouette, enriched by dark badges and a track widened by 30 mm and a 20 mm lowered trim. Sporty and electric seemingly can't get along, but Lancia's engineers have done a great job to achieve an optimal driving feel, thanks above all to the Torsen limited slip differential, which optimises traction in bends and improves precision and safety even in critical grip conditions. Finally, for precise braking, an Alcon braking system is fitted, with 4-piston monobloc callipers and 355 mm oversized discs.
