At the Proving Ground in Balocco, Lancia unveiled the new Ypsilon HF, a 280 bhp electric sports car that will arrive after the summer, and the Ypsilon HF Line (already available), a trim in the range available with a Mild Hybrid engine. Launch prices are just over €39,000 and €22,450 respectively.

The circuit christened 'Pista Lancia HF' right inside Balocco was also presented for the occasion, and the arrival of the Lancia Gamma in 2026 is confirmed, to be followed by the HF version.

The return of the HF elephant

.

It was in 1960 when the HF logo was first shown, at the Geneva Motor Show, when a group of passionate owners of Lancia cars founded the 'Lancia Hi-Fi' club (Hi-Fi stands for High-Fidelity), an exclusive club dedicated to the brand's most loyal customers and reserved for those who had bought at least six brand new Lancia cars.

Since 1963, he has been part of the racing team led by Cesare Fiorio, taking on a deep meaning of loyalty and mutual trust between team and crew.

Today, in 2025, the HF elephant returns to the Lancia Ypsilon, taking up that profound meaning and projecting the new model to conquer young fans.

There are now two models sporting the HF logo, the Ypsilon HF and the Ypsilon HF Line, the latter equipped only with aesthetic touches that make the car recognisable.

The new HF logo has reinterpreted the historic one, making it contemporary: the constituent elements of the brand are the symbols of Lancia tradition that are now simplified, both in terms of lines and shapes, creating a new balance, capable of expressing innovation and Italianism with a touch of eclecticism, in the utmost respect for the unmistakable geometries of the brand. In particular, the colours are those of the official Fulvia Coupé logo of 1966 while the slant of the letters is that of the Lancia Delta logo of the 1990s to express speed and radicalism.

Ypsilon HF test, features and dynamic test

Bold in style but also in the choice to launch a sports car with the HF logo and electric. Lancia has decided to relaunch the legendary HF logo with a 100% electric model and, while the choice of motorisation may turn some noses up, at the wheel it is convincing in terms of set-up and driving feel, precision and acceleration.

You expect a lightning-fast 0-100 km/h from an electric car, and the Lancia Ypsilon HF does not disappoint with 5.6 seconds thanks to its 207 kW (280 hp) electric motor and 345 Nm of torque. The 54 kWh battery allows an autonomy of 370 kilometres (Wltp cycle) with the possibility of fast recharging. The mechanics actually follow those of the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce and Abarth 600.

The styling is perfectly aligned with the model's sporty vocation, with elements that express the HF identity at first glance. The dedicated front bumper with HF logo, 18-inch alloy wheels, rear diffuser and specific wheel arches define a muscular and aggressive silhouette, enriched by dark badges and a track widened by 30 mm and a 20 mm lowered set-up.

Inside the cabin, the laser-treated Econyl sports seats (those in the HF Line are 'cannelloni'), inspired by the Delta Evoluzione, the perforated leather steering wheel with HF logo, the aluminium pedal set, the new graphic interface of the S.A.L.A. system and the dashboard with its blue and orange colour interference, create an immersive and technological environment, consistent with the model's gritty soul.

Furthermore, the sporty performance character of the new Ypsilon HF is expressed through a series of exclusive technical contents, starting with the Torsen limited slip differential, which optimises traction in bends and improves precision and safety even in critical grip conditions. The braking system by Alcon, with 4-piston monobloc callipers and 355 mm oversized discs, ensures power, stability and resistance to fatigue, while the tuning of the chassis and suspension with increased rigidity of up to 67% at the front and 153% at the rear anti-roll bar guarantees precise and involving driving dynamics without compromising comfort.

Lancia Ypsilon HF Line, features and dynamic test

The new Lancia Ypsilon HF Line sports a bold and instantly recognisable character, the same as the HF version.

On board, specific seats with contrasting orange stitching feature the 'cannelloni' pattern, a tribute to the brand's sporting icons. The sporty perforated leather steering wheel with HF logo gives an authentic feel, while the dedicated door panel trim and electric blue dashboard express a bold, competition-inspired elegance in pure HF style. In short, every detail contributes to an immersive and distinctive experience. In addition, the digital experience evolves with the new S.A.L.A. HF graphics available on the dual 10.25-inch screen, which interprets the infotainment system interface in a sporty key, while dark details and aluminium pedals complete a cabin designed for those who want to stand out, even in everyday driving. In addition to S.A.L.A., the standard technological equipment is rich: keyless entry with proximity sensor, level 2 autonomous driving, blind spot warning system, driver fatigue detection, front and rear parking cameras and sensors, and a driving selector.

Finally, three colours are available: Quartz White, Lava Orange and Slate Black (the first two colours can be combined with a black roof on request).

Available with the latest generation 1.2-litre hybrid engine with 110 horsepower (81 kW), 48V 3-cylinder technology and automatic transmission, the new Ypsilon HF Line redefines urban sportiness. Performance is brilliant: 190 km/h top speed and a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 9.3 seconds. All this with emissions as low as 105 g/km of CO₂, in the Wltp cycle, demonstrating an excellent balance between performance and sustainability.
