Last day of Prime Day and last opportunity of the season to save money. Let's take a closer look at discounts on technology, a category where consumers have always been comfortable buying online.

Remember that you have to be a Prime user to get the discounts, but you can also take advantage of a 30-day free trial of this Amazon subscription.

And if we have waited until today, the last day, to consider buying a TV, a computer, a smartphone (or avalanches of tech accessories), it can mean one of two things. Either we have forgotten about the Prime Day (and only now do we want to catch up) or we are either one of those prudent and rational consumers, who does not give in to the siren call of the immediate discount but prefers to ponder well. Either way, fine: the discounts are still there until midnight today.

No tech category is excluded. But let's start with the most expensive ones.

Tv and monitor

Like TVs and monitors. The higher the price of the product, the greater the absolute discount (in euros) we can look for. On TVs, we get over 64 per cent off, especially on the Samsung brand (Samsung TV Neo QLED QE75QN90BATXZT, Smart TV 75" QN90B Series, Neo QLED 4K UHD, Alexa and Google Assistant integrated, Titan Black, 2022, DVB-T2, with 2500 euros off, at 1389 euros). Lc, Sony, Tcl follow. Far fewer monitors are discounted.

Smartphones and tablets

Smartphones are certainly the technology product we will use most this summer, away from the computer. Some people are taking advantage of the warm weather to upgrade their mobile phones. The Prime Day pleases them with discounts on Xiaomi, Poco, Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy S24 brands. We hardly go over 20 per cent off, though, as is usual with this category. But at least a hundred euros can be saved today.

The Apple world - iPhone and iPad - is a bit of a story in itself, because this time we see typical discounts of around 200 euros (iPhone 13 128 GB at 539, the 14 128 GB at 679, the 15 Pro Max at 1199).

Some bargains also on iPads, even over 200 euro off, such as the Air 2022 Wi-Fi 256 GB at 599 euro.

Laptop

Many discounted laptop brands may appeal to those who want to bring their work into the holiday home or even the hotel.

One of the most heavily discounted is the LG Gram 17Z90R (Anti-Glare IPS 17" QHD 16:10 display, 2560x1600, Intel EVO i7-1360P, RAM 16GB DDR5, SSD 1TB, Intel Iris Xe, 80Wh battery, Thunderbolt4, Win11 Home, Italian keyboard, 1350g, Grey) at €799.99, down €599.01. Lots of discounted Microsoft Surface, such as the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 - 13" (Intel Evo power supply, 12th gen intel Core i5, 8GB, 256GB with Iris Xe graphics - Windows 11 .Platinum) at €799.00, down €530. We will also find Msi, Asus, Lenovo, Huawei, Acer, HP.

Earphones

In these Amazon festivals of discounts among the products that benefit most, who knows why, are earphones. In this Prime Day a hundred products are discounted. Good for listening to music and podcasts on holiday. Among the most discounted - almost 50 per cent - we see the BOSE QuietComfort Headphones with Wireless Noise Cancelling, Bluetooth over-ear headphones with up to 24 hours battery life, Blue Limited Edition and the Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Over-ear Headphones with Noise Cancelling, Bluetooth Technology, Multipoint Connection, Up to 30 hours battery life and Quick Charge, Black.

Power bank and memory card

Two accessories that can be particularly useful in summer are power banks and memory cards. The former are almost necessary when travelling. The latter are to be considered for putting a lot of holiday photos and videos on them, if the internal or cloud memory is not enough. Typical discounts of 10-20 per cent, e.g. the Sandisk 256 GB Extreme are 38 euros against 52 euros for the basic price. Power banks are cheap, but savings are still possible, albeit limited in an absolute sense. The 10400 mAh Anker ones are 16 euro instead of 22 euro for example.

Portable air conditioners

Heat and travel. Two conditions for which a unique answer is provided by portable air conditioners, almost all of which are now also equipped with an operating system that we control remotely via app. Here the discounts are usually small, around 10 per cent. A positive exception is the Electrolux Confort 600: it comes in at 499 euros, more than 100 euros off.

Console

Holidays can also be spent at home, playing more. And maybe it's time to change consoles. Not surprisingly, we find discounts here too. So the standard Playstation 5 is 447 euros instead of 549.99. The Xbox Series S 1 TB at 299.99 instead of 349 euros. These are not big discounts, it is true - you know that consoles are already sold at a low price compared to production costs. But there are interesting drops on video games, too, even over 50 per cent.
