Another 2.8 million is coming from the Lazio Region to support historic workshops. The announcement was made during the 'Botteghe Storiche' (Historic Shops) event, promoted by the Lazio Region to celebrate the results of the first edition of the regional call for tenders dedicated to the preservation and valorisation of historic shops and activities in the region. The opening of the second window of the public notice will have a budget of EUR 2.8 million.
Resources and deadlines
Municipalities will be able to submit new programmes for the enhancement of historical activities, with contributions of up to 100 per cent for municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants or in financial distress. The new call for proposals provides for subsidised measures for the restoration, conservation, innovation and promotion of historic workshops, with the aim of strengthening territorial identity and supporting local economic development. The new 2025 edition of the call will start in July. The method for selecting applications is 'over-the-counter', with the notice remaining open until December 2025.
The representatives of the institutions
.The regional measure was illustrated in the presence of, among others, Lazio Region's vice-president and councillor for Economic Development, Trade, Crafts, Industry, and Internationalisation Roberta Angelilli; the councillor for Productive Activities and Equal Opportunities of Roma Capitale, Monica Lucarelli; the president of the Rome Chamber of Commerce, Lorenzo Tagliavanti; and the president of Lazio Innova Francesco Marcolini.
The results of the first tender window
"The call for tenders was a success. An excellent result that we want to strengthen. This morning we awarded prizes to the municipalities that adhered to the historic workshops measure and disbursed 2.4 million euros, which generated 3.2 million in total investments. The Regional List of Historical Shops and Activities in Lazio now has 791 recognised activities in 73 municipalities in Lazio, including the Foundation Towns for which there is a reduced deadline for recognition, thus enhancing the historical and cultural specificities of those territories. Historical workshops represent an authentic garrison of tradition, know-how and local identity. With this call for bids, we want to accompany them on a path of revitalisation that combines memory and innovation, supporting the economic, cultural and social fabric of our territories,' said Roberta Angelilli.
A heritage for cities
.'Historical businesses are a living heritage of our city, a guardian of identity, memory and social cohesion. With 'Come 'Na Vorta' we have started a structured path to protect and promote Rome's historic trade. We hope that this is only the first step of a broader strategy, capable of guaranteeing new measures and resources to accompany these realities also in the future,' stressed Monica Lucarelli.
