Lazio: Updated business plan, shifting focus from Territories to Skills
Moving on to Resources for Development and Attractiveness
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The updated Lazio Industrial Plan, drawn up by the Region and Unindustria, identifies a number of priorities on which to focus efforts over the next 12 months, spread across four areas of action.
From the regions’ perspective, the focus will be on the 2026 National Logistics Forum, with a view to consolidating the sector as a driver of competitiveness by prioritising digitalisation and shared governance, and on the operational launch of the Industrial Consortium, to define a plan for activities and investments and to extend its scope to industrial areas.
Under the ‘Attractiveness’ heading, a Regional Simplification Agenda has been introduced, with the Simplified Logistics Zone now fully operational and a new phase of the ‘Invest in Lazio’ plan. Under the ‘Resources for Development’ section, there are plans to refinance and strengthen the instruments supporting the financial stability of businesses – from basket bonds to capitalisation – with a view to the new European programming period for 2028–2034.
Finally, with regard to skills, the report highlights the urgent need to invest in reskilling and upskilling to safeguard Lazio’s human capital, the increasingly crucial role of AI across all sectors, and a new strategy for the Rome Technopole, with the aim of bringing the Cineca network’s HPC supercomputing centre at the Tiburtino Technopole into operation.
