Lazio: Updated business plan, shifting focus from Territories to Skills -2-

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - A number of medium- to long-term projects necessary to support growth remain on hold, such as the upgrading of regional infrastructure: in Rome, the expansion of Fiumicino Airport; in the rest of Lazio, work must begin on the Roma Latina and Cisterna-Valmontone projects, whilst the Orte-Civitavecchia link and the doubling of the Salaria road must be completed. Of primary importance in southern Lazio is also the high-speed rail project at Ferentino and the strengthening of cross-provincial road links, such as the Formia foothills road. Finally, attention must be paid to strategic regional issues: from the phase-out of Civitavecchia to the future of the automotive industry in the Cassino area.
