Wine Latium, the Region ready for the Vinitaly 2026 showcase
Participation with a strategic value not only in terms of promoting production, but also as an opportunity to position the territorial system and overall identity
Regione Lazio is ready for the 58th edition of Vinitaly to be held in Verona 12-15 April. A participation with strategic value, not only in terms of promoting production, but also as an opportunity for positioning the territorial system and overall identity of Lazio wine in the national and international wine panorama.
For the 2026 edition, the Lazio Region will be present with a collective exhibition coordinated by Arsial (Agenzia Regionale per lo Sviluppo e l'Innovazione dell'Agricoltura del Lazio - Regional Agency for the Development and Innovation of Agriculture in Lazio), which brings together 61 wine-growing realities representing the entire regional territory and is part of an overall investment framework estimated at approximately 2.2 million Euro, destined for the construction of the pavilion, promotion activities, and support to local businesses.
The 'Vigneto Lazio' boasts 3 DOCG, 27 DOC, 6 IGT and 37 indigenous vines, into which pours the activity of a sector that counts 18,000 hectares 18,000 of vineyard area, over 350 active wine cellars and a production in the 2025 harvest of 724.000 hectolitres of wine (source Vendemmia Dichiarazioni - Sian), with a strong prevalence of whites (75% of the product) over reds (25%). 15% of the Lazio vineyard is organic (+32% compared to 2016 - source Sinab).
A strategic supply chain for agriculture, but also for the entire regional economy, capable of generating more than 230 million per year of production value, 60 of which from DO/IG denominations alone (source: Ismea-Qualivita 2025) and an export of 'Made in Lazio' wine equal to 70 million € (source: Istat).
"Behind every bottle there is work made up of care, dedication and professionalism. There are those who cultivate the vines, those who follow the wines day after day. Those who experience the intensity of the harvest and those who accompany the product right up to the glass. And this is a commitment that builds an authentic relationship with the territory, which is made up of knowledge, respect and valorisation of its extraordinary peculiarities," said Lazio Region President Francesco Rocca at the presentation of the Lazio Region stand at Vinitaly. "It is a process that originates from the land and is also rooted, however, in a business culture and this is the value that the Lazio Region supports with determination, because we are aware of the deep and indissoluble bond between the production system and our territories," Rocca added, "It is a continuous dialogue that generates excellence. Of which we can truly be very proud. Vinitaly is obviously an important showcase for the wine-growing and wine-producing sector in Lazio, a global showcase,' he added.
