'Legality and Merit': Luiss awards the protagonists of the 9th edition
Thirty-three institutes from all over the country participated, uniting different realities. First place ex aequo was awarded to the Istituto Penale per Minorenni di Nisida and the Istituto di Istruzione Superiore "Giovanni Falcone" di Palazzolo sull'Oglio.
Breaking down prejudices, overcoming social barriers and planting the seeds of justice where it seems most difficult. These are the guidelines that guided the 9th edition of 'Legality and Merit', the initiative born from an idea of Professor Paola Severino and promoted by the Luiss Guido Carli University.
The Project
The project saw the participation of 33 institutions located throughout the country, bringing together different realities: 20 high schools, 8 IPM, 3 Juvenile Social Service Offices, a Ministerial Community and a Multipurpose Day Centre. In recent months, the young participants have worked alongside 225 Luiss students in the role of 'Ambassadors of Legality', supported by a team of PhD students and tutors. Together they have developed workshops focusing on topics ranging from the fight against mafias and corruption to gender equality and the responsible use of new technologies and sustainability.
The closing ceremony and award ceremony
The closing ceremony saw the awarding of prizes for the most significant projects. First place ex aequo was awarded to the Istituto Penale per Minorenni di Nisida, with the work "Padrune e stelle: il diritto al domani", and the Istituto di Istruzione Superiore "Giovanni Falcone" di Palazzolo sull'Oglio, with the work "Viola non tace". On the second step of the podium, again tied, were the Ufficio di Servizio Sociale per Minorenni di Napoli, with the project "Il bivio", and the Istituto Tecnico Industriale "R. Elia" di Castellammare di Stabia, with "Oltre la scelta". Third place ex aequo went to the Istituto Penale per Minorenni "Emanuele Gianturco" of Potenza, with "E wagliun e Potenz", and the Istituto di Istruzione Superiore "Caminiti-Trimarchi" of Santa Teresa di Riva, with the project "Oltre il ciclone".
