'Legality and Merit': Luiss awards the protagonists of the 9th edition

"This event represents a valuable opportunity to enhance young people who are promoting a culture based on legality, respect and a sense of responsibility," said Professor Paola Severino, President of the Luiss School of Law. Seeing girls and boys from different backgrounds working side by side, removing all barriers, is the most beautiful proof of what legality is: not a theoretical assumption, but a daily exercise in sharing and redemption. Rewarding merit means giving confidence to a generation ready to become protagonists of change'.

Project participants will be able to access the scholarships made available by Luiss for participation in the Summer Schools, the orientation summer schools organised by the University. In addition, two scholarships are provided for enrolment in the University's three-year and single-cycle degree courses.

In particular, this year's edition introduced an important novelty dedicated to the Single-Cycle Degree Course in Law: the establishment of the 'Luigi Insabato Scholarship'. Financed by the Cappelli Riolo Calderaro Crisostomo Del Din & Partners law firm, the scholarship will cover the entire five-year course of study. The initiative was created to honour the memory of Luigi Insabato, a young Luiss graduate and former associate of the firm, who died prematurely.

"This scholarship stems from a commitment that we feel is a shared responsibility," said lawyer Roberto Cappelli, senior partner of the Cappelli Riolo Calderaro Crisostomo Del Din & Partners law firm. "It is not an episodic initiative, but the fruit of the work and values of a professional community that believes in law as a rule of civil and social coexistence and in the need to bring together talent and opportunity. By dedicating it to Luigi Insabato we want to transform one of our personal memories into an open project, capable of accompanying over time those who choose to study and build their future in law'.

The scholarship destined for students enrolling in a three-year degree course at the University is, on the other hand, financed by the Luiss Social Mobility Fund and the contribution of Professor Paola Severino, President of the Luiss School of Law.
The initiative benefits from the support of a consolidated institutional Memorandum of Understanding. Alongside Luiss and the Severino Foundation, the programme has seen the collaboration of the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Education and Merit, the Ministry of Universities and Research, the Superior Council of the Magistracy, the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate, the Anac and the Carabinieri Corps.
