(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Leonardo, along with its allies Airbus and Thales, will submit documentation to the EU “in the coming weeks” to obtain authorisation from the competition authorities to combine their respective satellite assets: the aim is to secure approval by “the end of 2027”. This was stated by Leonardo’s CEO, Lorenzo Mariani.
"We are in discussions with the European Commission to avoid lengthy debates on remedies and the antitrust procedure, which is necessary," he explained. "We are putting together a dossier that we will submit in the coming weeks, and then the European Commission will decide how to proceed." Mariani said that at this stage the partners “are not proposing remedies but are examining possible remedies”: “It is not our role to do so; it is always the EU that must identify them.”
