Leonardo: Mariani says the company in Ukraine will focus on drones and connectivity

Partnerships with companies in Kyiv are planned

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - “We regard Ukraine as a crucial testing ground where highly innovative technologies, solutions and products have been trialled as a result of the unfortunate conflict that has arisen. We believe that this experience should be taken on board by the more traditional industry – a sector to which we obviously belong – as we move into new fields such as drones, connectivity and electronic warfare. A particular focus on drones and, above all, on the ability to test the solutions we are developing in an environment as close as possible to the operational one.” This is what Lorenzo Mariani, CEO of Leonardo, told Radiocor when speaking about Leonardo Ukraine LLC, the new subsidiary in Kyiv founded last May. Partnerships with Ukrainian companies are also planned: “We have identified a number of firms with innovative and interesting solutions that we would like to integrate into our systems, and we believe that the best way to discuss this and reach agreements is to be physically present on the ground in Ukraine.”
