Leonardo: new organisational structure launched; Mariani says "we need to step up the pace now"
The new powers delegated to the CEO, Chairman and Managing Director
Leonardo has launched the group’s new organisational structure following the start of the new era led by CEO Lorenzo Mariani.
According to a statement, Chairman Francesco Macrì will have full responsibility for the Corporate Bodies Affairs organisational unit whilst, working in tandem with the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Mariani, he will oversee activities relating to “Group Security”, “Institutional Affairs” and “Sustainability”. Furthermore, the Chairman will exercise his role on the Board of Directors to oversee the activities of the Internal Audit organisational unit and, in carrying out the powers delegated to him, will also draw on the support of the following organisational units: People & Organisation, Communication, Compliance and Legal Affairs, which report to the CEO.
Mariani, who is taking on interim responsibility for institutional affairs, will have the following reporting to him: the Co-General Manager, Gian Piero Cutillo; the organisational units People & Organisation, Strategy, Technology and Innovation, Sales and Business Development, Legal Affairs and Communications, as well as all the Business Divisions (Helicopters, Aeronautics, Electronics, Space, Cyber Security, Automation), in addition to the coordination of the operating subsidiaries and associated companies.
The organisational units Finance & Investor Relations, Risk Management, Compliance, M&A and Post-Merger Integration, Digital Solutions & Infrastructure, as well as the service companies Leonardo Global Solutions and Leonardo International.
“Together with our colleagues,” emphasised Mariani, “we face an intense period of work to maintain the Group’s high level of competitiveness, increase its production capacity and accelerate innovation, particularly in new fields. With this in mind, we must further consolidate Leonardo’s leadership, strengthening its industrial, technological and international growth whilst continuing to create value for the country, for shareholders and for everyone working within the Group. It will also be essential to speed up the manufacture and delivery of systems already in production or due to enter service shortly, by increasing the efficiency and production capacity of Leonardo and the entire supply chain.”
