Lepas, Chery Group's high-end brand debuts

The open-air exhibition in the Piedmontese capital hosts the debut of the Chinese premium brand. Unveiled is the L8 suv, which will go on sale in 2026 at prices yet to be determined.

Lepas is entering the Italian market with a presence at the Turin Motor Show where it is presenting a European premiere, the L8 SUV that exemplifies the two elements underlying the Lepas name itself, namely Leap, (leap forward) and Passion. The aim of the SUV is to appeal to modern urban users, to meet their mobility needs by day, but also personal design. Hence the Lepas philosophy of transforming luxury cars essential to lifestyle. Lepas will present its achievements in terms of products, technology and ecosystem, as well as collaborating with a number of high-profile partners to inaugurate a new chapter in its vision of future mobility.

A key element of the Chery Group's globalisation strategy, Lepas, a fast-growing carmaker this year, can count on the support of its 8 global research and development centres, presence in 44 countries and 9 regions, and a comprehensive global sales and service network. In terms of technology, the Lepas L8's Super Hybrid system is a plug-in hybrid that guarantees a range of 1,300 km and low fuel consumption. In addition, the interior features an intelligent cockpit combined with a spacious cabin, active noise reduction system and attention to detail for a driving experience that should be at the level of a premium brand.

The target is to sell 500,000 cars per year

At launch, the Lepas L8 will be available with a plug-in powertrain, consisting of the 1.5 turbo petrol with 143 hp and a 204 hp electric, for a total of 278 hp. Drive is front-wheel drive and the 18 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate LFP battery promises a range in electric mode of more than 100 km. In terms of products, Lepas, which aims to establish 1,200 sales outlets worldwide and reach 500,000 units sold per year, will launch five new models within three years, covering the main segments. In the second quarter of 2026, the goal is to debut the L8 suv, followed by the L6 and L4. Further details will be revealed on the eve of the sales of the 3 suvs.
