The Paris Court of Appeal ordered the Lidl supermarket chain to pay Intermarché EUR 43 million in compensation for deceptive commercial practices.
This was reported by Afp, which viewed the ruling, explaining that the German retail group was declared "liable for deceptive trade practices" for having broadcast TV spots with promotizing products for several years "without guaranteeing their availability for a period of 15 weeks in all its shops".
