He is under investigation for abuse of office. Piacenza's offices and residence were searched by the Guardia di Finanza.
Toti's lawyer: forms have induced misunderstandings, nothing unlawful
Meanwhile, in a video released by the Liguria Region, lawyer Stefano Savi, the Ligurian governor's defence counsel, said that 'the forms could have led to misunderstandings but in reality they never bordered on anything illicit'. The next step, he added, "will be Friday 10 at 2pm for the interrogation of guarantee. After that,' he concluded, 'we will see how to act. In the meantime, we are examining and will examine all the court documents'.
Genoa Boat Show President self-suspended from office
Confindustria Nautica (the Boating Industry Association) announces that "with reference to the ongoing investigations, apart from the precautionary measure and its effects, until clarification is provided, the Chairman Saverio Cecchi (under investigation, ndr), in the spirit of service that has characterised his more than forty-year-long activity in favour of the boating industry, has decided to suspend himself from his office". The activities of the Association and Genoa International Boat Show "continue without any interruption, under the guidance of the Board of Directors of Confindustria Nautica and the Board of Directors of the company I Saloni Nautici srl".
