Leone La Ferla, the company crosses the 300-year milestone

A 250,000 square metre plant with a production potential of 100,000 tons per year of lime clods, 40 employees, a turnover of 7.3 million. These are the key figures of the Leone La Ferla spa company of Villasmundo in the province of Syracuse, which recently celebrated its 300th anniversary: it was founded on 18 October 1724. A milestone that makes it one of the oldest historical companies in Italy. Ten generations of entrepreneurs whose philosophy, over the centuries, can be summed up in this sentence of current president Leole La Ferla: 'Look to the future without forgetting the past'.

The generational transition, which is still ongoing, is taking place with the support of the historical family members. The new generation is determined to carry on the entrepreneurial legacy with the same spirit of innovation and social responsibility. "We cannot predict what the future will hold," says young Edoardo La Ferla (Leone's son), "but one thing is certain: we will do our best to face the challenges with the same dedication and passion that characterised the previous generations.
