Average increases of 142 euro per month in the pay envelope for 430,000 local authority employees were announced by Paolo Zangrillo, Minister for Public Administration, following the renewal of contracts for the three-year period 2022-2024.
An agreement that also provides for average arrears, net of the increased contractual holiday allowance, of 2,357 euro for those working in the Regions, Municipalities, Provinces, Metropolitan Cities and Chambers of Commerce.
"Workers' commitment recognised"
'An important result' commented Zangrillo, who a few hours earlier - on the sidelines of the event for the 80th anniversary of Confcommercio Piemonte in Turin - had said he was 'crossing his fingers hoping to find an agreement'.
"It is a concrete acknowledgement of the commitment and professionalism of those who guarantee, in the territories, essential services for citizens," Zangrillo continued, "With this signature we maintain our commitment to contractual continuity and lay the foundations for the start of the new 2025-2027.
Towards the next round
A process already started. Zangrillo, in fact, adds that he has already forwarded the framework address to Aran, the technical body representing Italian public administrations in national collective bargaining.
