It was also an opportunity to jointly reflect on the main concerns recently expressed by farmers and to launch a dialogue on the sound budgetary framework designed to support the objectives of the CAP. The different funding opportunities and possible synergies to benefit agriculture and rural areas will be highlighted, and actions already undertaken and possible additional measures to strengthen the competitiveness of European farmers will be discussed.

The discussion also covered future decisions on the long-term budget and the EU revenue system, with the aim of ensuring that agriculture remains a priority sector in European policies.
