(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Encouraging the growth of start-ups through contacts with potential investors, so as to consolidate projects capable of generating added value for the economy. The Lombardy Region is pursuing its strategy to support innovative business initiatives, promoted by the Councillor for Economic Development, Guido Guidesi. With this in mind, the 'Startup Days' events, scheduled for 23 and 29 October in Milan, have been organised in synergy with Musa (Multilayered urban sustainability action), an entity that brings together several Lombardy universities and public and private partners to address the challenges of environmental and social sustainability. In particular, Palazzo Lombardia, the seat of the Region, will host meetings between emerging start-ups, investors and industry professionals, in order to facilitate direct and targeted interactions and create fertile ground for future collaborations. The aim is to give a new generation of entrepreneurs the chance to consolidate their work, giving concreteness and solidity to start-ups that will be able to generate innovation, employment and induced activities, offering an important contribution to maintain and indeed implement - as underlined by the Department for Economic Development - Lombardy's economic-social supremacy at international level.

StartCup Lombardia final on 23 October

With regard to the "Startup Days", the final of StartCup Lombardia 2024, the competition organised by Lombardy's universities and university incubators and promoted by the Lombardy Region and Musa to encourage the birth of new innovative enterprises, is scheduled for 23 October: the finalist start-ups will have the opportunity to present their projects to a jury of experts and potential investors, with the aim of winning a cash prize that will support their entrepreneurial journey. The second stage of the 'Startup Days', on 29 October, is an absolute novelty and concerns 'FutureMatch - Connect Today, Create Tomorrow', a new format created to foster direct contact between start-ups and those willing to invest. The event includes two sessions: one dedicated to the Berkeley SkyDeck Europe programme, the Milan-based start-up accelerator that offers emerging companies direct access to the Silicon Valley ecosystem, and the other dedicated to the 'Green Chemistry Competition' to promote start-ups operating in the field of sustainable chemistry.
