Lorenzo Serafini is the new creative director of Alberta Ferretti

The designer had already been with the group for ten years and was in charge of the Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini brand, which from 2025 will be merged into the main brand

Lorenzo Serafini is the name chosen by the Aeffe group as creative director of the Alberta Ferretti brand. The designer, who joined the group in 2014 as creative director of the Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini brand, succeeds in this new adventure the brand's founder, Alberta Ferretti, who announced her retirement from the catwalks last September.

"I am happy to announce that Lorenzo will be my successor at the helm of the brand that bears my name. At a time of great change in the world of fashion, I strongly believe that Lorenzo has all the necessary characteristics to take on this challenge: creativity, a marked sense of aesthetics, professionalism, and competence," said Alberta Ferretti, vice chairman of the Aeffe Group, in a note. "Ten years ago I entrusted Lorenzo with the Philosophy line, which he has been able to develop into a successful brand. Now the time has come for him to write a new chapter for the Alberta Ferretti brand, whose most authentic nature is akin to his feeling. Lightness, femininity, sensuality are already words that belong to Lorenzo's expressive vocabulary, and which he will know how to interpret wonderfully in the world of Alberta Ferretti".

Serafini, born in Riccione in 1973 but Milanese by adoption, will make his catwalk debut with the brand in February 2025. "With enthusiasm and gratitude I welcome this new professional opportunity, which has been offered to me by the Ferretti family," says Serafini. "I am honoured that Alberta has chosen me as her successor. I am picking up an important and prestigious legacy, which I will treasure in order to write a new chapter for the Alberta Ferretti brand".

The Aeffe Group has defined, in agreement with Lorenzo Serafini and interpreting the needs of the current market, a new strategy that provides for the integration of the Philosophy line within the Alberta Ferretti brand starting from the autumn/winter 2025 season, with the aim of guaranteeing further appeal and strength to the new course. "Following Alberta's decision to leave the creative direction of the brand," commented Massimo Ferretti, president of the Aeffe Group, "we immediately discussed the future of the brand and agreed that Lorenzo was the right person to take on this challenge. His taste, his vision, his knowledge of the sector and of our company will be instrumental in the further evolution of the brand".

Lorenzo's CV includes experience at Blumarine, Roberto Cavalli (where he was in charge of womenswear), Dolce&Gabbana (for which he looked after the D&G collections and the first line). The Philosophy brand was born in 1984 as Alberta Ferretti's second line.
