Luiss, Giorgio Fossa is the university's new president

The board of directors of Luiss, on the designation of the association of the Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali - Aluiss, has appointed Giorgio Fossa as president of the university. The University announced this in a note, specifying that Fossa takes over from Luigi Gubitosi, in office since October 2023. Giorgio Fossa, former president of Confindustria between 1996 and 2000, is the tenth president of the University, of which he was already a board member from 1996 to 2000 and from 2010 to 2016.

"I leave an Athenaeum in excellent shape, both academically and managerially, with a renewed educational offer and enhanced services," said Luigi Gubitosi. "Luiss is approaching the threshold of fifty years with solid foundations, ready to face the challenges of the future and to continue in its mission: to train the country's new ruling class, equipping students with the essential skills and values to manage, with responsibility and ethical sense, the great transformation brought about by artificial intelligence. I wish the new president, Giorgio Fossa, well in his work: I pass the baton into excellent hands,' Gubitosi added.
