The government of Nicolas Maduro has declared a 'state of emergency' throughout Venezuela in the face of the danger of US military aggression. Vice-president Delcy Rodriguez announced this in a meeting with foreign diplomats, stressing that the decree gives the president 'special powers' to act in defence and security matters in the face of external threats.
