Maire: Bernini – no orders exceeding 1 billion expected by 2026, though possible in the first half of the year
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Maire expects new “medium-sized” contracts, in the range of “400–600 million”, to be awarded by the end of the year, but not contracts worth billions, whilst “in the first half of 2027, one or two EPC projects of the traditional size for this type of contract – for ammonia or fertilisers – could be awarded, i.e. worth over 1 billion dollars”. Chief Executive Alessandro Bernini told analysts this after noting that the group had already met, a quarter ahead of schedule, the target for new orders (around 9 billion) set for the whole of 2026, and that the commercial pipeline of potential opportunities amounts to around 61 billion dollars.
In the second half of 2027, Bernini added, there may be the conclusion of some commercial negotiations relating to proposals the group is currently working on: “So it won’t be possible in the first half of the year, whilst in the second half we’ll be discussing the ‘super-giant’ projects – those worth between 8 and 12 billion dollars each.”
In addition to these prospects, the manager said, there are those arising from the LNG segment, which is “fairly new” for the Maire Group: “Our involvement in the project in Louisiana with Argent and at ADNOC’s LNG terminal in Fujairah,” he concluded, “is leading to the group being recognised as a ‘credible player’ in this sector.”
