With each passing day, the hypothesis of a postponement of the RAI appointments to September takes more and more shape. The postponement is considered almost inevitable by now, both in majority and opposition circles. Not only because the timeframe is very tight, since the parliamentary recess begins on 9 August, but also because the centre-right lacks the final go-ahead for the agreement and new obstacles are appearing on the path to the proclamation of the president, which requires the cooperation of at least part of the minority in the Vigilance Commission.
The opposition is united on the idea of leaving the chamber in the event of a vote, to avoid franchi tiratori. In any case, a group leader is scheduled in the Senate, a last attempt to try to schedule the election of the two councillors before the stop, which, in the event of a green light, should be followed by the one in Montecitorio for the vote on the other two.
The time node
.'The times are tight,' the president of Forza Italia senators, Maurizio Gasparri, points out. 'The closer we get to mid-August, the more complicated it becomes. It is a decision-making process that involves the classrooms and the Vigilance and it is a good thing that at least on the procedures an agreement is also sought with the opposition'. For the calendar,' he recalls, 'we need unanimity in the group leader's office, otherwise we have to go to the chamber. If everyone agrees, fine, but frankly, the timeframe seems very tight to me.
Voting hypothesis 10 September
Among the hypotheses circulating is that of scheduling the vote as early as Monday 5 August for 10 September. It is clear that in order to unravel the tangle, an agreement within the majority is first needed and this is why there are rumours of a summit between the three leaders. Giorgia Meloni could see Matteo Salvini in a few hours, according to rumours in majority circles (although there is no confirmation from those directly involved), or everything could be postponed to the 7th August cdm, even with Antonio Tajani.
The positions in the majority
.Pushing the accelerator is above all Fratelli d'Italia, which would like to close the file by nominating Giampaolo Rossi as managing director. The League, however, wants the certainty of being able to count on a general manager it trusts, such as Marco Cunsolo or Maurizio Fattaccio. Forza Italia has long been aiming at Simona Agnes as chairman, relying on the support of Azione and Italia Viva, with a secret vote, to reach the two-thirds quorum in the Vigilanza.
