Manoeuvre 2026: from housing to working mothers, here are all the bonuses that can be claimed now
Bonuses for mothers and leave enhanced, implementation pending for some vouchers
The 2026 manoeuvre provided (between reconfirmations and new measures) for a series of bonuses. But not all of them can be cashed in immediately by those entitled. While the home bonus, furniture bonus and the contribution for working mothers will remain for 2026 and can therefore be cashed in immediately, the bonus for foodstuffs, the voucher for parish schools, the bonus for school books and the value card for school leavers will need an implementation measure.
Bonuses that can already be claimed
The regulations on the renovation bonus on the first house at 50 per cent and 36 per cent from the second house onwards and the furniture bonus up to EUR 5,000 are confirmed for 2026. For 2026, compared to 2025, the mothers' allowance is strengthened from 40 to 60 euros per month for working women with at least two children and income up to 40,000 euros. Parental leave and sick leave for minor children are also increased. For these measures, the application rules already established last year apply
Card Dedicated to you
The manoeuvre increases by EUR 500 million for each of the years 2026 and 2027 the endowment of the Fund for the purchase of necessities set up by the Budget Law 2023, intended for the purchase of basic foodstuffs by persons with an ISEE not exceeding EUR 15,000, to be used through a special enabling system by means of a payment instrument called the 'Dedicated to You' Card. It is provided, however, that a decree of the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry (MASAF), in agreement with the Minister of Labour and Social Policies and the Minister of Economy and Finance, shall allocate the resources, as well as identifying the terms and methods for their disbursement.
School Books
The Budget Law establishes a fund of 20 million euro per year starting from the year 2026 to be distributed among municipalities for the disbursement of contributions to be allocated directly to households with an ISEE not exceeding 30,000 euro for the bearing of expenses for the purchase ofschool books, including digital ones, intended for secondary school. A decree of the Minister of the Interior, in agreement with the Minister of Education and Merit and the Minister of the Economy and Finance, establishes the methods and criteria for the distribution of the fund.
Paritarian
The manoeuvre envisages that the Ministry of Education and Merit will recognise, within the spending limit of €20 million for the year 2026, a contribution of up to €1,500 to students attending a parish secondary school or the first two years of a parish secondary school, belonging to families with an ISEE income not exceeding €30,000. However, a decree of the Minister of Education and Merit, to be adopted in agreement with the Minister of the Economy and Finance, will be needed for the implementation modalities.
