Manoeuvre, subsidies to companies for pop and rock music performances
A fund in the Ministry of Culture with an endowment of EUR 1.5 million annually as of 2026 is ready
A fund at the MiC, with an endowment of €1.5 million per year as from 2026, to finance measures to support competitiveness and the promotion of the Italian music system, made up of companies producing and organising performances of 'contemporary popular music' that have been in existence for at least one year prior to the request for a contribution. This is one of the novelties that will be put to the vote among the reformulated parliamentary amendments to the manoeuvre that is heading into its final rush.
The access perimeter
As is expressly specified in the proposal, companies producing and organising performances of 'contemporary popular music' are to be understood as those whose sole or main purpose is the production and organisation of musical performances and events; 'contemporary popular music' also includes forms of musical expression, such as, by way of illustration, pop, rock, singer-songwriters' songs and creative musical fields that do not fall within the classical, lyrical or symphonic sector.
60 days for criteria
A decree of the Minister of Culture, to be adopted within sixty days from the date of entry into force of the regulation, after agreement with the Permanent Conference for Relations between the State, the Regions and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano, shall establish the criteria and procedures for access to the fund.
