League at work on 5% flat tax for the under-30s and on expanding scrapping

A flat tax at 5% for young people up to the age of 30 hired on permanent contracts and a three-year decontribution for the company that hires. This is one of the proposals being studied by the League, according to parliamentary sources, in view of the presentation of amendments to the manoeuvre. The proposal envisages that the incentive could be extended up to 36 years in the case of a brain return, i.e. for young people returning to Italy from abroad.

In the League, work is underway to broaden the tax-collection system envisaged by the budget law and one of the hypotheses being studied, according to information, is that of including (the rule contained in the manoeuvre envisages the exclusion of tax-collection forms issued following an assessment) taxpayers who have received an assessment for formal defects.

Another 'hot' topic is the disputed increase in taxation on short-term rentals, with the rate rising to 26% instead of the current 21% for tourist rentals put on the market through intermediaries or internet portals such as Booking or AirBnB. A measure that the League and Fi want to cancel because it 'hits small landlords'. With regard to this rule that raises from 21% to 26% the flat-rate tax on short-term rentals, the objective of Matteo Salvini's party, parliamentary sources say, is to suppress the increase.
